RFI: Paris might support Serbia-Kosovo border changes
French President Emmanuel Macron might support a possible change of the borders between Serbia and Kosovo to resolve the disputes between Belgrade and Pristina, Radio France International (RFI) said on Monday.
“President Emmanuel Macron could support a possible “correction of borders” between the two countries which should resolve the disputes between Belgrade and Pristina and motivate Belgrade to recognize the >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << independence of its former province,” RFI said, adding that the French diplomatic service seems to want to get involved in Balkan issues again after being passive for years.
According to RFI, the north of Kosovo with its Serb majority could be traded for part of the Presevo valley in southern Serbia which has an Albanian majority but with the risk of a new explosion in the region.
The station recalled official Belgrade’s disatisfaction with the seating arrangement at the commemoration of the end of World War I in Paris and added that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic promised a friendly and grandiose welcome to his French counterpart whose support will be crucial in convincing official Berlin to stop opposing the changes of borders in the Balkans.
