Pristina police: Vidovdan celebrated peacefully
The police in Pristina said on Thursday that the celebration of a Serb religious holiday went on peacefully and without any incident.
Serbs celebrate Vidovdan when its army lost the Battle for Kosovo to the Turks on June 28, 1389.
The police said in a statement it had “increased safety measures before and after the event, secured the freedom of movement for all citizens and controlled and re-routed the traffic.”

"According to our estimate, some 700 people took part in the events in Gracanica (outside a monastery, 10 kilometres east of Pristina) and Gazimestan (a memorial site and monument commemorating the Battle of Kosovo), ” the police statement said.
Pristina on Wednesday banned Serbia's Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin from attending the ceremony and warned about the measures it would take if the ban were not respected.
Vulin said on Thursday that Pristina banned him because "it is afraid of my words," Bosnia Serb news agency Srna reported.
He added he agreed with Serbia's President Aleksandar Vucic to "refrain from any actions which could have been used for the violence against the Serbs.
Also on Thursday, Vidovdan celebration was traditionally organised in country's central town of Krusevac, once the capital of Serbia.
This year, Serbia's President Aleksandar Vucic did not attend the celebration.
