Majority opposed to change of borders in Kosovo

A majority of the polled citizens of Kosovo are opposed to an exchange of territories with Serbia, the Democratic Institute of Kosovo said on Friday.

According to the results of a poll that the Institute conducted on an unspecified number of people of unspecified ethnicity, 77.6 percent said they oppose an exchange of territories with 51.5 percent saying that >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << they would protest if an agreement of that kind is reached.

About 20 percent of the polled said they would demand a referendum and 9 percent said they would accept an agreement which would include an exchange of territories.

The poll also showed that 71 percent are not satisfied with President Hashim Thaci’s approach to the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.   More than 80 percent (82.9 percent) said they would not accept changes to the borders of Kosovo nor executive powers for the Community of Serb Municipalities.
