Kosovo President Thaci welcomes Merkel statement
Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has welcomed German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s view on the borders of the Western Balkans, adding that Serbia and five European Union member states should recognize Kosovo.
“I salute the statement by Chancellor Merkel on inviolability of the borders in W Balkans,” Thaci tweeted on Tuesday.
“All that remains to be done is for a majority of EU members to convince >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << 5 of the EU nonrecognizers and Serbia to recognise Kosovo within these borders. The sooner it happens, the better for the region,” Thaci wrote on his Twitter account.

German chancellor Angela Merkel said a day earlier that there can be no changes to the borders in the Western Balkans.
