Kosovo Police cuts holidays short

The Kosovo Police made an operational order cutting the holidays of all of its uniformed members short, said KoSSev, quoting the Pristina-based Koha.

The website Kallxo came into possession of a letter sent by the Kosovo Police Operations Staff Director Rasit Caljaj, sent to his subordinates, KoSSev reported quoting Koha.

“Due to operational engagements, issuing of holiday permits to all uniformed >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << personnel has been suspended until further notice. The suspension remains in force until ordered otherwise," said the Operations Staff Director, Rasit Calaj.

Kallxo asked for an explanation from the Kosovo Police about what the reasons for this decision might be, but the answer they received was not specific.

"In line with operational plans, the Kosovo Police also plans its human resources for more efficient performance of official duties," said the Kosovo police.

The reasons why the police were ordered such a move were not given.

At the same time, KoSSev reported that KFOR announced that this military mission is conducting "planned exercises" throughout Kosovo in accordance with the UN Security Council Resolution 1244.

 The UN Resolution 1244 had authorised an international civil and military presence in Kosovo and established the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK).
