High level Belgrade – Pristina dialogue continues soon

The presidents of Serbia and Kosovo will probably meet again in just over two weeks following the talks last Sunday after a three-month-break, confirming reports that the European Union wants the process to intensify, the Belgrade daily Blic reported on Tuesday.

The daily said it got a confirmation of the new meeting between Aleksandar Vucic of Serbia and Hashim Thaci of >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << Kosovo from Serbia’s President office.

The meeting could take place in Paris on July 17, during Vucic’s visit to France where he is supposed to meet President Emmanuel Macron.

According to Blic’s sources, the dialogue might continue in a slightly different form including shuttle diplomacy by Angelina Eichhorst, Director for Western Balkans and Turkey of European External Action Service (EEAS).

Earlier on Tuesday, Kosovo President’s advisor Bekim Collaku told Pristina newspaper Koha that Belgrade and Pristina had six to eight months to reach an agreement on normalising relations.

“We know that the time frame to reach an agreement is linked to the mandate of European Union institutions because elections are next year. We can say that the optimal time to reach an agreement is six to eight months,” Koha quoted Collaku as saying.
