FM: Belgrade won’t protest due to French Macron's visit
Serbia will not protest France’s decision to display the Kosovo flag during the forthcoming Remembrance Day ceremony marking the end of World War I, but rather discuss the matter with French President Emmanuel Macron who will be visiting Serbia, the FoNet news agency reported on Tuesday.

“Having in mind the forthcoming visit by Macron, the first French president to visit Serbia after 18 years, I believe that (the flag issue) should be left for talks," rather than protests, Ivica Dacic, Serbia’s Foreign Minister, told the Politika daily.
He earlier said that flying of the Kosovo flag outside the Notre Dame cathedral was “generally a scandal because there is no military parade in which losers take part.”
A spokesman for the Notre Damesaid on Monday that the Kosovo flag was flying in front of the church because officials from Pristina had been invited to attend the commemoration next Sunday. The spokesman has added that Notre Dame does not take any stand nor does it deal with diplomacy.
Dacic said Serbia can’t do anything to have the flag removed but “we can have better relations with Paris, and that’s why Macron’s visit is essential,” Dacic told the daily.
