Comprehensive agreement on Kosovo possible, US ambassador
Belgrade and Pristina could reach a comprehensive agreement to normalise relations if both sides show leadership and courage, US Ambassador in Serbia Kyle Scott said on Friday.
Speaking to Radio TV Kosovo (RTK), Scott said that those two things will decide whether we have entered the final stage in normalising Belgrade-Pristina relations. “I think we have an excellent opportunity this year if there is true statesmanship and leadership both on the Serbian side and on the >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << side of the Kosovo government to move towards a final comprehensive solution, a comprehensive agreement on normalization,” the ambassador said, adding that this will take courage and leadership.
“The time is always right for normalization. I would like to hope that we are entering the final stage of the negotiations and reconciliation. I have to say that the reactions I have seen over the past few days on the streets and in Kosovo show that we have a long way to go,” Scott said when asked about the Mirëdita, Dobar dan (good day in Albanian and Serbian) culture festival in Belgrade which brings together people from Pristina and Belgrade.
“You have to find a way to live in peace and harmony with mutual respect,” the ambassador said.
