Jimmy Edgar is a Detroit native and poster child of sound coulture.
The producer, designer and fashion photographer has seriously been blowing up of late, his unique and provocative ultra modern sound environments turning heads the world over. His most recent album XXX on K7 records is a unique electronic masterpiece, oozing with sexual energy and analogue warmth.
In just over one year, Egyptrixx's has become an acclaimed presence in underground music.
Garnering praise for his distinct sonic aesthetic from many heavyweight DJs, including Sinden, Mary Ann Hobbs and Drop the Lime, and influential publications such as Fader, Xlr8r and The Wire magazine. The reputation of David Psutka's Egyptrixx among beat music connoisseurs was quickly cemented last year by tracks like 'Battle for North America' and 'The Only Way Up'. Egyptrixx's debut album Bible Eyes is one of the finer full-lengths to emerge out of Bass music’s wildly spiraling continuum this year, working equally as a headphone zone-out and as next-level material for adventurous DJs exploring the intersections of Dubstep, UKFunky, Grime and more traditional House and Techno spheres. Bible Eyes offers a strong foundation for Egyptrixx going forward, proposing a strong musical identity without yet tying him down to a specific direction.
