Carl Craig / Ewan Pearson / Vladimir Aćić

Dom Omladine, Beograd
Saturday 9 Apr 23:00

Carl Craig is a music visionary and a key player in Detroit techno's second wave. His involvement with the SHARE Conference will be twofold.
In addition to his gig at SHARE by Night, SHARE by Day will see him speak about the 20 defining moments in a 20-year-long history of his Planet E imprint. As an artist, a label-owner and club DJ, Carl Craig is one of the few who has literally helped shape the sound of modern electronic music, with a multifaceted career that has spanned over 20 years.
Craig served as co-creator and artistic director for the widely successful Detroit Electronic Music Festival. He was also nominated for a Grammy in 2008 for his mix of the Junior Boys' “Like a Child.”
Throughout his career, Craig has authored over a hundred remixes, for a wide range of artists all over the world. For Craig, the “remix” is a chance to reinterpret a song from the ground up..
It is widely accepted that Craig's unique contribution to Detroit techno are his forays into electronic jazz and soul. Nevertheless, the common thread that runs through Craig’s broad musical canon and creative projects is a resounding fascination with futurism. Carl Craig has cultivated a unique path as an artist, entrepreneur and civic leader, guided by his tendency toward forward thinking.
Ewan Pearson has been making music for a living since 1998.
In that time he has worked as a recording artist (Maas, World of Apples, Partial Arts), a remixer (Depeche Mode, Chemical Brothers, Goldfrapp, Seelenluft, Cortney Tidwell, Junior Boys), a record producer (The Rapture, Tracey Thorn, M83, Delphic), a DJ (Space, Robert Johnson, The Loft), as well as being a published academic (ʻDiscographiesʼ, Routledge: 1999, with Jeremy Gilbert) and music columnist (Groove Magazine, Germany 2007-present).
