Taxi protest blocks Serbian capital
More than 1,000 taxi drivers from across Serbia drove through Belgrade on Monday to protest the government’s failure to solve their key problems.
The column formed in the Belgrade suburb of Vozdovac and drove to the central Nemanjina street to stop in front of the government headquarters, continue to the main railway station and go back the way they came.
The organizers of the protest drive said their idea was to block several of the city’s main streets and intersections to draw attention to their everyday problems.
