Smoke forces British flight to land in Belgrade

A Thomas Cook flight bringing British tourists home from Greece was forced to land at Belgrade airport early on Friday morning because of smoke in the cabin, the Beta news agency reported.

The Airbus A320 took off from the Greek island of Kos with 136 passengers and 7 crew bound for London when it was forced to divert to Belgrade’s Nikola Tesla airport.

The flight landed at 02:50 local time and the passengers were transferred to hotels to wait for their flight to resume, >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << Beta was told by the airport authorities.

According to the Thomas Cook web site, the flight has been scheduled to depart Belgrade on Friday evening.

The airline has had at least two other smoke-related incidents in the past, media and aviation web sites reported.
