Serbia’s PM: Economic growth higher than expected

Ana Brnabic, Serbia’s Prime Minister, said on Tuesday that the country’s economic growth was 4.4 percent in the 2018 second quarter instead of 3.6 percent as the government planned, the FoNet news agency reported.

She described the news as “fantastic for all the citizens.”

With the 4.6 to 4.7 growth in the first quarter, the first half of 2018 recorded 4.5 percent in economic growth, Brnabic said during the presentation of Lora technology in the telecommunications >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << company Telecom Serbia.

She added that her cabinet would inform the parliament in October or November about the decision to abolish the law on reducing the pensions as well as public sector’s salaries introduced in autumn 2014 and supposed to expire by the end of last year.

Serbia’s Finance Minister Sinisa Mali said that the result was impressive and that the country reached the financial stability with the 4.5 percent GDP growth in the first six months this year, “the highest in the decade,” the Beta news agency quoted him as saying.
