Serbian roads blocked over high fuel prices

Drivers in a number of cities and towns across Serbia turned off their engines and stopped traffic on Friday afternoon to protest high fuel prices.

Roads were blocked in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Nis, Kragujevac and a number of other towns at 05:00 pm, blocking main roads, central squares and highways.

Fuel prices were raised recently to 1.24 Euro a litre of petrol and 1.3 Euro a liter of diesel fuel. Protesting drivers said no fuel prices should be over the level of 1 Euro.
