Serbian president won’t submit to pressure

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Tuesday that he refuses to submit to pressure from anyone.

“I don’t submit to pressure, not to the Americans and not on the street,” Vucic said commenting the protests over high fuel prices across Serbia.

“Retailers have huge profit margins on petrol. What the government can do something about is diesel. The state will do some things for the farmers but not as long as they demand that on the streets,” the Serbian President >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << said.

He said the authorities will do their job and not allow anyone to mistreat people. “My job is to provide security for all the citizens of Serbia and not allow thieves and bullies to roam. Once that is over, we will sit down to see what can be done. We will solve things when there is no pressure on the streets. You won’t ever get to block the highway without consequences,” Vucic said.
