Serbian president not expecting solution in Paris

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Wednesday that he is not expecting the Kosovo problem to be resolved in Paris on November 11.

He told reporters during a visit to the Clinical Centre of Serbia that a solution is not in sight, adding that he is prepared to talk to everyone. “We are very, very far from a compromise even if everyone who has an interest moved out of the way. They didn’t bomb us and declare Kosovo’s independence to allow this to be solved >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << without them,” he said. According to Vucic, the condition for every solution is any kind of agreement between Serbs and Albanians. “That does not exist,” he said.

Vucic said Kosovo can’t become a UN member without the approval of Russia, China and Serbia. “However, maybe someone else could win in Serbia soon. Someone who is already saying that they want to give it a UN seat with nothing in return and that might happen,” he said.

The president said he was told by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov that nothing had been agreed on Kosovo during his meeting with the US president’s national security advisor John Bolton.

Vucic said he discussed the need to define the border with Kosovo with international community officials.
