Agreement for Pristina to join UN, NATO and EU, Thaci says
Kosovo’s President Hashim Thaci said on Wednesday he had agreed with the Munich Security Conference (MSC) chairman Wolfgang Ischinger on the necessity to achieve a comprehensive agreement with Belgrade which would enable Pristina’s membership to the UN, NATO and the European Union, the Beta news agency reported.
Thaci wrote on his Twitter account that “it was always a pleasure to talk with ambassador >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << Ischinger.”
Always a pleasure to discuss with Ambassador @ischinger - now in #Belarus for #MSCMinsk . We both agree there is a need for a comprehensive settlement between Kosovo and Serbia, one that closes chapters of conflict in Bakans and enables #Kosovo’s membership to @UN, @NATO and EU. pic.twitter.com/DcFS0XnQOi
Ischinger invited both Thaci and Serbia’s Prime Minister Ana Brnabic to take part at the conference held in the Belarus capital Minsk.
According to the MSC website, the conference is organised because “mutual trust between East and West shrunk back to lows not seen since the Cold War.”
There has been no announcement about a possible meeting between Thaci and Brnabic.
The main topics at the conference will be the global and regional security.
