Serbian police arrest produce traffickers
The Serbian police arrested a large group of people charged with importing fruit and vegetables from the European Union and forging documents to sell it as local produce, the Serbian Internal Affairs Ministry (MUP) said on Thursday.
A press release said that 36 people had been arrested and that criminal charges had been filed against another 43 suspects.
The fruit and vegetables were mixed with locally grown produce and re-packaged for transport with false paperwork.
