Serbian government to sell shares in banks

Finance Minister Sinisa Mali said on Wednesday that the Serbian government was preparing to sell its shares in three banks.

He said the government’s shares in the Jubmes bank would be sold by the end of the year, that a strategy is being drawn up to sell the Srpska Bank and that applications have been invited for an adviser for the sale of shares in the Komercijalna Bank.

The finance minister added that the Postal Savings bank, which is majority government-owned, was operating well and was stable.

Mali said the Deposit Insurance Agency would advertise the sale of 240 million Euros of debts left over after bankruptcy proceedings.
