Serbian construction worker dies on newly-opened bridge
Another construction worker died in an accident on one of Serbia’s many construction sites on Wednesday, this time on a bridge that was officially opened by President Aleksandar Vucic on September 1.
The 38 year old man fell through a safety net on the rail and road bridge in Novi Sad early on Wednesday morning and died later in hospital.
No one from the Graditelj NS construction company that he worked for was willing to speak to the media but according to unofficial >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << reports, the man fell through the safety net onto the concrete below the bridge.
Although the bridge was opened to road and rail traffic, the approaches have not been completed and pedestrians and bicycle riders still can’t use it to cross the Danube.
Several construction workers have been killed on construction sites in Serbia in the past few weeks.
