Serbian TV owner ends hunger strike

Novi Sad Kanal 9 TV station owner Maja Pavlovic said she is ending her hunger strike following Wednesday’s meeting with the authorities to resolve the station’s debt to the state.

Pavlovic met with representatives of the Ministries of Culture and Information and Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications and of the Regulatory Body for Electronic Media (REM) and the top broadcasting body ETV.

She told the Beta news agency that Kanal 9 will go back on the air on Wednesday >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << evening.

 Kanal 9 TV was taken off the air on May 18 by the ETV which cut off its signal over a debt of 2.5 million Dinars (about 20,000 Euro) leading Pavlovic to start her hunger strike.
