Serbian Finance Minister presents draft budget
Serbian Finance Minister Sinisa Mali said on Thursday that he wasn’t aware of the practice of presenting next year’s budget to the public before sending it to parliament.
“I thought the draft budget should first go to MPs before journalists see it. I wasn’t aware of the practice and I’ll correct it next year,” Mali told reporters after the draft budget was adopted at a session of the government.
He said 220 billion Dinars (1 Euro – 118 Dinars) were earmarked >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << for investments in next year’s draft budget. “The goal was to raise the share of investments in the GDP from 3.6 to 4 percent,” he said.
The finance minister said that the economic growth rate should remain unchanged next year.
Asked if the government could subsidise goods exports to Kosovo, Mali said that was not possible because “the state can’t subsidise private companies”.
