Serbian Defence Minister says protest organizers hiding
The finance minister would be talking to the organizers of the protest against higher fuel prices if they weren't hiding behind the drivers who are blocking roads, Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin said on Monday.
“We have a finance minister and someone will talk to him but the question is who because we don’t know who is organizing the protest,” Vulin said on the pro-government TV Pink morning show.
He called the protest organizers to come forward, adding that >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << the decision on lowering the excise on fuel depends on global market prices and on the Serbian government.
“How will we know if the demands have been met if we don’t know who to negotiate with. Someone is officially organizing the protest. You have protests but the people hiding behind the protest have to bear responsibility for what they are doing,” the Defence Minister said.
Drivers have been blocking roads in protest over high fuel prices since last Friday in a number of places across Serbia. The protests were organized via social networks after fuel prices were raised.
