SERBIAN ECONOMY RISEN BY 2 PERCENT: Here’s what this means!

Gross domestic product (BDP) of Serbia increased in real terms by 2 percent in the second quarter of 2016 compared to the same period last year, announced today the Republic Statistical Office (RZS).

According to seasonally adjusted data, BDP in the second quarter remained at the same level compared to the first quarter of this year.

Significant growth in the gross value added per annual level was recorded in the construction sector by 6.1 percent, then in the financial and >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu Telegraf.rs << insurance activities (3.9 percent), as well as in the sectors of wholesale and retail, repair of motor vehicles, transportation and warehousing, and accommodation and food for up to 3%.

The decline in gross added value was recorded in industry and water supply and wastewater management, by 0.6 percent.

Observed by expenditure aggregates, in the second quarter, real growth was recorded in all aggregates compared to the parallel quarter last year.

Final consumption expenditures of households increased by 1.3 per cent, final consumption expenditure of non-profit institutions that provide service to households increased by 0.3 percent, final consumption expenditure of government (4.6),  gross investments in basic funds (4.9), exports of goods and services (10.0) and imports of goods and services (12.3 percent), the statement said.
