SBB: investments in GIGA Cities
The SBB company has announced investments of some 300 million Euro into an optical network and other digital infrastructure and the construction of a new generation network – the SBB giga network.
SBB spokespersons told the Disrupt or be Disrupted conference in Belgrade that it was launching its new project GIGA Cities in Serbia with Novi Sad and Subotica in the north of the country becoming the first cities where 1Gbps packets will be offered to users.
The plan is to turn Belgrade and Kragujevac into GIGA Cities in 2019. SBB said that would bring Gbps Internet access speed to more than 700,000 households across the country.
