Police arrest 27 on corruption charges accross Serbia
The Serbian police arrested 27 people, including eight police officers, and filed criminal charges against 102 others on suspicion of corruption and other financial crimes, the Internal Affairs Ministry said in a press release.
It added that the people charged with the crime inflicted damages of more than 1.2 million Euro on the state budget.
The crimes were committed in the period since 2008 and included illegal trade, tax evasion, and deliberate bankruptcy, currency forgery and fraud.
The police operations were launched to arrest people in a number of institutions in several towns and cities.
