Police Day marked, police promised better equipment
The central event marking the Police Day was held in front of the National Assembly of Serbia, Sunday. The event was supported by various state officials who promised help and better conditions for the police.
Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic and the Iterior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic congratulated the police on their day, and said they were proud of the resulty they achieved in reducing crime rate.

He said that police ensures that everyone lives without fear but that their role in the society is often disregarded and equated to repression.
He added the police does not exist in order to protect the regime or anyone’s government but to protect the society, its every citizen and person, regardless of gender, age or any form of orientation.
“You protect their liberty by protecting the law. Let there be no doubt, without you there would be no freedom. The way you protect freedom is more than impressive. I promise you will receive the recognition you deserve,” Vucic said.
Stefanovic said he was proud of the police who have proven to be the guarantee of stability and security in the past four years.
The event was attended by other members of Serbian Government led by the Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, Assembly Speaker Maja Gojkovic, Bosnia’s Republika Srpska entity President Milorad Dodik and Serbia’s Chief Prosecutor Zagorka Dolovac.
Around 1,200 police units and 200 vehicles took part in the event.
