Parents of missing babies protest in Serbian capital

Parents of allegedly kidnapped infant children protested in front of the Serbian government and presidency buildings on Friday, demanding the withdrawal of a law covering the so-called case of the stolen children.

A group of 100 people gathered in front of the Serbian government building for three hours before walking to the presidency building but were turned away at both places.

The protesters want the withdrawal of a draft law which is intended to solve the case because >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << they it does not meet the conditions set to the authorities by the European Court of Human Rights. That court ruled on a motion filed by the parents five years ago, ordering Serbia to solve the fate of the missing babies.

The parents are demanding to know the fate of their children, claiming that they disappeared from maternity wards. We want an investigation to find out the truth about what happened to our babies, not money for what we went through, one of the parents said at the protest.
