Orban: Europe wants unity not rifts

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on Thursday that Europe favours people who want unity not rifts.

Speaking at the opening of the TSC Football Academy in the northern Serbian town of Backa Topola, Orban said that Hungarians and Serbs are linked by sports as two nations which have decided to stand united. “It’s natural for sports to bring people together. and the Serbs and Hungarians have chosen unity,” >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << he told the ceremony in the town with a majority ethnic Hungarian population.   Orban said Hungary can always count on support from Serbia President Aleksandar Vucic. He said that serious investments like the football academy require two united sides with courage and vision. He said the academy is just the start of a period of investments in facilities for children in Serbia which has a large ethnic Hungarian population.

The Hungarian Football Association donated 9.5 million Euros for the construction of the football academy, including a stadium with four auxiliary fields. The ceremony was attended by football association officials from both countries. TSC football club plays in the Serbian First League.
