One dead in Belgrade tram accident
One person was killed and six others injured in a serious traffic accident in central Belgrade on Monday.
A pedestrian was killed instantly when a car ran a red light and hit a tram pushing it off its tracks on the corner of Resavska and i Krunska streets not far from the Serbian parliament and presidency buildings.
According to a police statement, at least three people suffered serious injuries in the accident and were taken to the city’s Emergency Centre and Orthopaedic >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << Hospital.
Belgrade Deputy Mayor Goran Vesic came to the scene of the accident before the tram was removed. He told N1 that both drivers told the police that the traffic light had been green. Vesic said investigators would access security cameras from the tram and nearby buidings.
