New Year decoration in Belgrade continues since summer
Thursday's night saw Belgrade with the New Year’s decoration lit on, double in size and prize than last year, done by a company, the only contender at a public call which could meet the tender's conditions, for 2.5 million Euros, N1 reported.
Besides, the Keep Light company, the only distributors of a Greek firm in Serbia, got another job – 300 new accessories which for the Belgrade taxpayers would pay over 250.000 Euros or two average salaries in Serbia for each item.

Last year, the City authorities spent 83.000 Euros for the Christmas Tree plus 200.000 Euros for some accessories.
An official explanation for this year's increase in spending was that all decorations were not for the New Year only, but other City's manifestations as well.
