NGO Director: Serbia acts strange towards Macedonia
The Director of a Non-Governmental Organisation ‘Centre for Regionalism’ expects most Macedonians to support the agreement with Greece in Sunday’s referendum and that this Agreement should be used as a model for regional disputes.
Aleksandar Popov told N1 that the arrival of Social Democrats and Zoran Zaev to power in Macedonia was expected to continue the good neighbourly relations between Belgrade and Skopje but that Serbia’s authorities started acting “strange” towards >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << their Southern neighbour.
He recalled that Belgrade had no reaction to the agreement between the Macedonian and Greek prime ministers – Zoran Zaev and Alexis Tsipras, even though they received congratulatory messages from countless other international officials.

Macedonia is holding a referendum, Sunday, on which the citizens will decide whether their country should change its name into the ‘Republic of Northern Macedonia,’ according to the agreement with Greece. The name change is one of conditions for the country’s Euro-Atlantic Integration.
