Music is universal language, Angie Stone tells N1
Angie Stone, an American recording artist, R&B singer, producer, and actress, was in Serbia for the first time, for a concert at the Belgrade Kalemegdan fortress on July 1.
Before her performance, she told N1 that people tried to scare her into not coming to Serbia.
But, she said, what was important for her was that “the energy of my music, my beliefs and that kind of stuff was receptive.”
Music is a universal language, she added.
Her song “I >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << wish I didn’t miss you” has become a planetary hit and she had said that even a customs officer at the Belgrade airport started singing it when she recognised her.
Though nominated three times for the Grammies, she has not got it.
Stone said it was always “something about technicality,” and added she got many other awards.
