Minister blamed for problems with south Serbia airport
A former CEO of the Nis city airport blamed Serbian Construction, Infrastructure and Traffic Minister Zorana Mihajlovic for the problems that airport has been facing in the past few months.
Vladica Djurdjanovic, former CEO of the Konstantin Veliki airport told this week’s issue of Belgrade weekly Vreme that everything began over what he said were irresponsible statements by the minister “who spread around millions of Euros in some imaginary aid for reasons known only to her”.

Ownership of the airport was handed over to the Serbian government by the Nis city authorities following weeks of protests by the city’s residents who warned that the idea was to cut down flights from Nis under an alleged deal with the new concession holders of Belgrade airport, the French Vinci Airports.
Djurdjanovic said the ministry has to explain why and how things were done. “How do you explain the fact that the parking lots at Belgrade airport were handed over to the airport to manage as the contemporary model initiated by Vinci and that the parking lots at Nis airport are handed back to the city. Those are the first magnanimous things the new owner has done,” he said.
Things reached a climax, he said, with a donation of two scanners for Nis airport last year. “The declared value of the donation was 400,000 Euros, which is what the equipment costs but we received equipment which was not certified because it had been in use and was written off. In real terms, the equipment was worth less than the outfit Mihajlovic wore on the day,” Djurdjanovic said.
