Lorry drivers briefly block four Serbia’s border terminals

Unhappy with high fuel prices, insufficient duties return and problems with terminal pay lasting for ten years the lorry drivers’ associations blocked for borders crossing in Serbia on Wednesday morning, N1 reported.

The blockade of the crossings Kelbija with Hungary, Sid with Croatia, Vatin with Romania and Presevo with Macedonia ended at the 4 pm local time.

The protesters addressed the Finance Ministry, saying they were paying between 20 and 40 percent more for fuel >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << than their colleagues in the region.

Their demands included free access to the terminals and the state subsidies for purchasing new lorries, already granted to other entrepreneurs and farmers.

They have also requested faster border procedure, saying that in other countries it lasts  an hour or two, while in Serbia they spend between 15 and 20 hours.

The message from the Finance Ministry was that there were no negotiations in the street.
