Local officials arrested for bribery in southern Serbia
Two high-ranking local officials have been arrested on charges of bribery in southern Serbia, the Juzne Vesti news portal reported on Thursday.
Blace Mayor Milos Vasiljevic and municipality administration chief Zoran Milutinovic were taken into custody on charges of taking bribes during the privatization of a local veterinary station.
A special prosecutor from the city of Nis ordered them held for 48 hours following an investigation which allegedly determined that they wanted to sell the veterinary station to a local man.
