Legendary Serbian writer for children, Rasa Popov, passed away: He dedicated his life to the youngest, and this is how he spoke

Rasa Popov, legendary Serbian writer, publisher, actor and longtime broadcast journalist, associate of Mokrinski newspapers, star of children's TV show Tips & Tricks (Fazoni i Fore), died last night around 23 hours in Belgrade at the age of 84. 

Rasa has died after a long and difficult illness.

His son has confirmed the information for Telegraf.rs that Rasa has passed away, and he said that the time and place of funeral is still not decided, those information will be known >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu Telegraf.rs << later on, and that he would like to bury his father in the Avenue of Honor.

Radivoje Rasa Popov was a journalist-associate Mokrinski newspapers, star of children's TV show Tips & Tricks. He is an author of dozens of books for children and adults.

He preferred history over literature

He was born on June 26, 1933 in Mokrin. In 1952, he came to study in Belgrade. He graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy. He preferred history over literature, but he opted for literature.

He began his journalistic career in the Novi Sad daily Dnevnik. He was a journalist of the "Mladost" from 1961 to 1964, then a journalist of Radio Belgrade from 1964 to 1967. He was in Television Belgrade until 1995. Besides that he was lecturer in Serbo-Croatian language in London, Birmingham and Nottingham from 1975 to 1977. The chief editor of the publishing house "Matica Srpska" from 1983 to 1985.

He received the Annual Prize of Radio Belgrade in 1967 for the series "Aspects of fascism."

He has appeared in TV shows as a storyteller, some of the most famous are the "Joy of knowledge", "Tips & Tricks", "Varosarije", "In the dream the dream," "Bottomless hat".

He was married to Radojka, professor of literature, and they had a son Bojan and daughter Dijana.
