Hubble Space Telescope celebrates 28 years
A few days ahead of the exact date, NASA has celebrated the 28th anniversary of launching Hubble Space Telescope by publishing a colourful image of the giant star, called Herschel 36, which is 200,000 times brighter than the Sun.
The star is located 4,000 light-years away, visible in binoculars as merely a smudge of light with a bright core.
The Hubble Space Telescope was sent to space on April 24, 1990 and has taken 43,500 images of the celestial bodies so far.

It is 32 times more massive than the Sun, with temperature of 40,000 degrees Kelvin.
Herschel 36 is still very active since, by stars' standard, it is young, only one million years old. Its mass says it will live another five million years.
The Sun is five billion years old and will live another five billion years.
