Haradinaj: Serbia’s request for extradition is a direct call to war
Ramush Haradinaj, a former KLA leader who is awaiting the court's decision in France whether they will extradite him to Serbia, charging him with war crimes, said that Serbia's request for his extradition is a "direct call for war."
- This is a direct call for war. If someone has a problem to understand that he is either a coward or refuses to face the reality - said Haradinaj in the interview for KTV television.
He also claims that the statement of the French ambassador >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu Telegraf.rs << in Pristina is false, that he is being trialed based on new evidence.
- He (French ambassador) lied because Belgrade also lied to him - claims Haradinaj, reports Gazeta express.
Haradinaj is confident that the French government will rejected Serbia's request for his extradition on Thursday, based on the evidence presented on the former hearing.
He also considers that the decision not to leave France to the final decision of the court in Colmar, had the aim to "keep away" form the process of making decision.
Haradinaj was arrested on January 4, at the border of Switzerland and France after an Interpol warrant issued by Serbia for his arrest, a Court of Appeal in Colmar should announce a decision on Serbia's request for his extradition on Thursday.
Serbia seeks Haradinaj on suspicion of having committed criminal offenses of war crimes against civilians in Kosovo and Metohija in 1998 and 1999, and the word is about the crimes, what Belgrade announced, that were not the subject of the trial before the Hague tribunal.
