Four MiG-29s from Belarus, Serbia’s Defence Minister says
Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin said that Serbia would receive four MiG-29 fighter aircraft from Belarus by next year.
“Late this year or early next year we will be richer by four MiG-29s thanks to an agreement between [Serbian] President Aleksandar Vucic and [Belarus President] Alexander Lukashenko just as we are stronger for six MiGs thanks to an agreement between presidents Vucic and [Russia’s Vladimir] Putin, Vulin told Belgrade daily newspaper Blic.
Vulin said >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << the Serbian air force will have a total of 14 MiG-29 multi-role combat aircraft which will undergo maintenance and upgrades but refused to specify how much that would cost.
“We will pay far below market prices for the purchase, maintenance, upgrades, pilot training and spare parts and weapons and less than what a similar purchase cost Croatia,” Vulin said adding that he expects the Serbian military to introduce almost 40 types of domestically-produced weapons and equipment in the near future.
