Former general Atif Dudakovic indicted for war crimes
Bosnian prosecutors filed indictments against Atif Dudakovic, a former war-time general in the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and 16 other members of his 5th Corps.
"The Special Prosecutor for war crimes has filed indictments against Atif Dudakovic and 16 other members of the 5th Corps of RBiH Army charged with crimes against humanity committed in the municipalities of Bosanski Petrovac, Kljuc, Bosanska Krupa, Sanski Most and war crimes against civilians in municipalities of Bihac >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << and Cazin," the Prosecution said.
The group are indicted for crimes against humanity and the murders of more than 300 people, the persecution and abuse of civilians and prisoners of war, as well as the destruction of 38 Orthodox Christian temples. Most of the 300 victims were Serb civilians and soldiers who surrendered or were captured in combat.
Dudakovic was in command of the 5th Corps and all other forces in the northwestern Bihac enclave during the Bosnian War (1992-1995). The enclave whcih lies close to the border with Croatia was surrounded 1992 to 1995 by the Army of the Republika Srpska, the Army of the Republic of Serbian Krajina and Bosniak forces led by politician Fikret Abdic. During that time, Dudakovic commanded the 5th Corps.
After the war, he took command of the Army of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH).
Dudakovic was also indicted for war crimes against Bosniaks who were members and supporters of the ‘People’s Defence of the Autonomous Region of Western Bosnia.
Dudakovic was arrested in late April 2018, teh SIPA security agency and was suspected of having committed war crimes against Serbs during the war.
