EC says trying to keep up Pristina – Belgrade dialogue
The European Commission said on Monday it worked with both Belgrade and Pristina leaders to preserve the dialogue which would ensure a legally binding agreement on normalisation of relations between the two capitals.
The dialogue has been on hold since March following Pristina’s detention of a high ranking Belgrade official who was in Kosovo without its authorities permission.
Pristina later said it would not continue the technical round of the dialogue scheduled for >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << this week reportedly because it wanted the energy issue to top the agenda while Belgrade insisted that it would be the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities (CSM) instead.
The EC spokesperson, however, could not comment on Pristina’s cancellation, but said the Commission was in a constant dialogue with the chiefs of the negotiating teams and that “we will continue the dialogue as soon as possible.”
