EBRD discussing bank privatization with Serbian government

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is talking to the Serbian government about the privatization of the Komercijalna bank and is continuing its support of small enterprises, EBRD Vice-President Alain Pilloux told reporters in Belgrade.

The EBRD is co-owner of the Komercijalna Bank along with the Serbian government.

“We started talks with the Serbian government on the privatization of the bank to secure the stability of the banking system in Serbia,” >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << he said and added that the EBRD is also ready to finance the development of Belgrade’s Nikola Tesla airport in the form of a loan to the French company Vinci which has the concession to the airport for the next 25 years.

The EBRD gave small and medium companies in Serbia another 11 vouchers worth 14,000 Euro each in support of green technologies, Pilloux said. The EBRD has issued a total of 300,000 of those vouchers to support 21 projects to date.
