Culture Minister orders security checks in institutions
Culture and Information Minister Vladan Vukosavljevic ordered state institutions under his auspices to conduct additional security checks of their premises, especially fire extinguishers and air conditions.
The order came after two employes of the company in charge of maintaining fire safety systems in the Serbia’s National Library died from gas poisoning while checking the fire protection equipment on Friday.
The Minister also ordered risk assessments to be made by >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << institutions that have not done this yet, a statement from the Ministry said in a statement.
The Ministry also recommended that the same measures should be taken by institutions run by the city of Belgrade and local authorities "in hope that the tragic incident in the National Library will serve as a strong warning that the law protecting people and goods must be strictly implemented."
