Croatia increases military budget for more than HALF A BILLION EUROS
For the first time after six years of continuous reduction, Croatia increases military budget, and it is expected that the increase in the following year will be around 4.4 billion Kuna (580 million euros).
That would be noticeably higher from the plan for 2016 which was 4.022 billion Kuna.
This year's Croatian military budget was the lowest in history - only 1.17 percent of GDP. Increase of military budget is attributed to the merits of Minister of Defense Damir Krsticevic.

"Vecernji list" papers write that it was allegedly agreed in the government for the military budget to be increased to the 1.21 per cent of GDP, but Minister of Defense Damir Krsticevic would be, as it is stated, more pleased if it came to 1.25 per cent, which would bring the state closer to NATO proclaimed two per cent.
It is stated that the new Minister of defense Damir Krsticevic intends to return dignity and motivation to the army.
