Brnabic: Sofia-Nis gas pipeline construction accelarated
The construction of the gas pipeline from the Serbian city of Nis to Bulgaria’s capital, Sofia, will start earlier than planned, Serbia’s Prime Minister, Ana Brnabic, told the Vecernje Novosti newspaper.
Brnabic said the EU has designated around 50 million Euro from their IPA funds, and since Serbia has achieved a surplus in its budget after economic reforms were successfully implemented, the project will start before it was planned.

“Meanwhile the burden on the northern part of the gas pipeline system will be significantly lifted, and that ensures a secure supply of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the future supply for our southern regions of Kosovo and Metohija, Macedonia and Montenegro,” Brnabic said.
