Belgrade already had a fountain which was the main attraction between the two wars: Here is where it was and what is there today (PHOTO)
The music fountain on Slavija has become the main attraction in Belgrade in just a few days. However, it is little known that Belgrade already had a less imposing fountain, built in 1927, which was located on Terazije.
Although it seems strange for the younger people of Belgrade, in the middle of Terazije, there was once a luxurious fountain, which significantly contributed to the beauty of the central part of the city.
The first fountain in Belgrade was built in 1927 on the >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu Telegraf.rs << Terazije at the then tram stop, and it was removed in 1947 when the square was reconstructed.

The circular pool was made of green granite.
The fountain was very seriously conceived and constructed , because the floor was made from murano glass, so we can only assume that this could have caused a beautiful visual effect in the passerby.

The fountain was ceremoniously put into operation on April 2, and was completely completed in November 1927.

She had two shallow concentric pools.
A smaller pool was raised a bit, and along its edges were eight lion heads, and streams of water were flowing from the jaws.

The entire fountain was equipped with a well-established sprinkler system with differently intensified jets, which created an imaginative water game.
Today there is an island in the place of this beautiful fountain, and traffic is going around it with full intensity - Terazije were once the artery of Belgrade, and frequency of people and traffic was so great, that this part of the city looked like one big beehive.
