Wednesday is the market day in Petrovac on Mlava. This Wednesday is a bit different. Namely, a presidential candidate has come to Petrovac starting his pre-election campaign.
"It cannot be Vojislav Kostunica," an older woman says seeing Kostunica on the flea market.
"Yes, it is Vojsilav Kostunica! He will be the president! Look at him; he has come to the market to see us," a seller answers.
Kostunica walks between counters and talks >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu Blic << with people. He asks them if the selling is good. People come close to Kostunica; some are kissing him, others are shouting: "Vojo, go on and win!" A man gives Kostunica a broom saying: "I have a red broom for you, to sweep them off the power!"
Vojislav Kostunica buys two kilos of grapes. A seller tells him that he is a refugee from Croatia. A woman selling toys complains of market inspection: "I have to pay fines every day, and Chinese don't."
Vojislav Kostunica makes a short speech at the main square. Citizens of Petrovac wait for Kostnica's autographs; two older ladies want to be photographed with him.
The presidential candidate continues his tour. He goes to Velika Plana. Citizens walk with Vojislav Kostunica through the town. Older people comment that Kostunica walks quickly and that he has a big step. They like it.
On his way to Pozarevac, Kostunica stops in Milosevac. His mother was born in that village. He goes to the house of his grandfather Zivojin Arandjelovic, who was a Democratic Party deputy before the Second World War.
"When I was a child, I spent a lot of time here. I was even christened in a nearby church."
Kostunica comes to Pozarevac, decorated with the Democratic Party of Serbia's posters and banners.
Smederevo is the next stop in Kostunica's pre-election tour. People shout: "Kostunica, rescue Serbia", "Don't betray us when you become a president!"
"I haven't betrayed you so far, and there are no reasons for doing that in future," Kostunica answers.
