Novi Sad Street Music Festival opens
The Novi Sad traditional Street Musician Festival opened in that northern Serbian city on Thursday.
The festival, which has been held since 2000, opened with a procession of musicians followed by a concert by Spanish pianist David Moreno.
The festival is being held on part of the city’s Petrovaradin fortress overlooking the Danube. That part of town is turned into an arts quarter with music performed, films shown, theater pieces performed and exhibitions organized on the streets.
Festival spokeswoman Lea Kotilica said the festival will include two plays by the Belgrade-based Reflektor Theatre, bands from other countries and other things.
