Američka svemirska agencija NASA identifikovala je asteroid koji bi, prema njihovim proračunima, mogao da pogodi Zemlju 5. februara 2040.
Asteroid 2011 AG5, prečnika 140 metara, izazvao je zabrinutost među pripadnicima Akcionog tima UN za nebeska tela u blizini Zemlje, koji razmatraju mogućnosti za njegovo skretanje.
Prema njihovim procenama, verovatnoća da asteroid udari u našu planetu je 1:625, a ukoliko bi pogodio grad, mogao bi da prouzrokuje milione žrtava.
